FRIENDS
Lord God of
All Creation,
Thank you for
the great gift of the millions of species of
animals who vastly outnumber us, but who share the earth
with us.
To some, of
course, we are natural prey or enemies. With others
we live in happy concord.
But they are
all your creatures, made
before us, on the Sixth day of Creation.
Let me never treat any animal with anything but sincere
respect, care and admiration.
Watching them
can be for me a special revelation of Your goodness
to us,
and Your infinite creativity and love.
