BREATH
Almighty
God, Who created the earth and set the stars into the sky,
You Who breathed life into clay
and created Adam in the Garden of Paradise,
and You created me,
Please
let every breath I take rise to heaven,
as a a prayer to You.
I know that the number
of breaths I take dwindles ever downward. Please help me to
breathe easily and long.
I know that the number
of inhalations and exhalations which are allotted to me is
finite, and that every day I advance toward my final breath,
the end of my human esistence, and my entry into life eternal.
Please, God Who made
me, when that day comes, take me up into heaven, to spend
eternity with You, my departed family and friends, and all
Your angels and saints
for all eternity.
All this I pray with
every breath I breathe, dear God.
