Prayers - Long Road Home

LONG ROAD HOME

As the years pass by, the journey shortens
and I come closer to You, my God Creator
and my Lord Redeemer.

Keep me, Jesus, on the narrow path,
the straight path, the direct path,
the golden path to Your heavenly kingdom.

Let me not weary, let me not drift,
let me not change course, let me not be diverted from my final beautiful goal: eternal unity with You!

You know only too well that I have
in the past slipped into the sordid paths
of the Devious Deceiver, Satan, and into
the dark woods of sin.

Please forgive me for those evil wayward wanderings!

Forgive me for being so distracted
by the busyness of the world that I have often neglected You and the spiritual journey
which is the only thing that finally matters.

Thank you for all those who, by good example, support, and through prayers for me,
have given strength, courage and focus,
and ultimately forward progress, to my life's journey.

Bless them all please, as they blessed me,
and let us travel together toward our heavenly destination!

As the leaves of time fall and rustle round my footsteps, Jesus, help me keep my golden goal in mind, and help me hurry always onward to the end of my traveling, at the shining Palace of Your Divine Heart.

All this I pray in earnest humility,
