PRAYER
FOR A MALE FRIEND
Dear
Lord, please hear a prayer
for my good friend.
Guide
him closely on his path this day
and always. Steer him clear of pitfalls
and distractions, enemies and bad decisions.
Guide
him toward good choices.
Give
him deserved self-confidence
and inspiring goals, God,
give him purpose and grand energy
which makes him rise happily
with the sun each day.
Surround him with true, dependable, loyal, brave, warm
and honest friends,
who by companionship, understanding, advice and example,
will make him a better man
each day.
Give
him, please, satisfaction in the work of his life, God,
and refreshment and joy
in his times of recreation.
Let
him achieve goals, triumph over
dark difficulties, and be warmly cherished by family
and colleagues.
Hold
him free from depression and moody pessimism. Lead
him to laugh heartily
each day.
Prompt
him to pray and share his concerns with You, for with
prayer, all goals
will be possible for him.
Make
him able, however, to accept Your will
in all things, no matter how bitter
or difficult.
Let
him go to sleep this night with a clear conscience,
a sense of accomplishment,
and a mind at peace.
Wake him tomorrow refreshed,
with a renewed sense of purpose,
a motivating optimism, great hope
and much happiness.
Help
him, God, to keep his eye on the goals
of goodness, charity and spiritual perfection.
Bring
him at last to the shining avenues
of heaven and into eternal joy,
and the companionship of the saints
in Your unending kingdom.
All
this I pray in faith and hope,
trust and charity.
