OUT
OF ANXIETY
If
we are laboring in the midst of some deep worry
or struggling to break through inhibitions
or anxieties which prevent our loving
and being loved...
Or if our days are dulled with pain
or saddened by the pain of others...
Or if we are anxious for one that we love,
or grieving their death ...
Then we pray God's grace to be in our midst,
to bestir our hearts that we may discover anew
feelings and joys we have surely known before,
and which wait if we could just be done with that
over which we have no control, that for which
we have no need to feel guilty, being mindful
instead of things for which we could give thanks,
however few - or however many, things they may
be.
