Prayers: Clown's Prayer

CLOWN'S PRAYER

God of Joy and Laughter,

As I stumble through life, help me to create
more laughter than tears,
dispense more cheer than gloom,
and spread more joy than despair.

Let me never become so jaded, that I will fail
to see wonder in the eyes of a child,
or a twinkle in the eyes of the aged.

Let me never forget that my mission is to cheer people, make them happy, and make them forget momentarily all the unpleasantness in their lives.

And, God, in my final moment, may I hear You whisper, "When you made My people smile,
you made Me smile as well."
