FEATHERS

He will cover you with his feathers,
and under His wings you will find refuge.
His truth is your shield and your armor.

Dear Lord God, Holy Spirit,

Please take me under Your wing and protect me from the dangers of life.

Not so much the physical threats, but rather save me from temptations to evil.

Keep me alert to the wiles of Satan,
and when evil is present alert me,
strengthen me, shield me, and lead me away
in the direction of peace, goodness,
and the shining path to You.

Hold me, please, under Your guarding grace.

Let my soul then one day float away
like a feather lofted on the whisper
of angels' wings, rising steadily, surely,
to Your heavenly, house and into eternity, beyond the sun and moon and stars,
to meet You, my good and glorious God,
face-to-Face.

All this I pray in loving confidence
and profound hope.
