AN
IRISH PRAYER
May
the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
And the rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you safe
In the palm of His hand.
May
the three leaves of the shamrock
remind me always of the Three Persons
of the Holy Trinity:
Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
May
the whole of the shamrock symbolize
for me the unity and mystery
of Three Persons in One God.
Triune
Lord,
Mystery beyond our human comprehension,
I pray to You in belief and confidence.
May I always have the humility
and the pure trust of the most ardent
Irish man or woman who accepts You,
Lord and Master, in all things, implicitly,
patiently, without cynicism or arrogance
or sophisticated indifference.
May
I see green growth as an emblem of Faith and the
promise of a new life with You
in the eternal ever greener pastures
of Your heavenly kingdom.
All
this I pray in love and confidence.
Amen
