Prayers - Loneliness

LONELINESS

Dear Lord,

We are told that man was not meant
to live alone - nor woman.

As individuals we are incomplete.

Yet by various circumstances,
we find ourselves sometimes alone:
for a week, for a month, for a lifetime...

Please be with me, Lord, in those times,
indeed, please be my partner in life always:

In the shadows, in the sunlight.
In the storms, in the calm.
In joy, in sorrow, now, and in eternity.

Love me, sustain me, hold me from the gnawing cancer of loneliness, the fear of loneliness, the well of loneliness.

Please be present always to me.
Supportive. Near. Hold me. Keep me.

Alone.

But with You.

Now.

Forever.
