MIND - MENS SANA
Mens sana in corpore sano (a sound mind in a healthy body) is a famous Latin quotation, often translated as "A sound mind in a sound body." It is derived from Satire X of the Roman poet Juvenal.

Holy Spirit, God of all health and brilliance,

Please keep my memory sharp,
and my faculties strong, and abate my pride.
Decrease my insecurities and laziness,
and help me focus laser-like on my goals.

Thank you for giving me at birth a sound mind,
intelligence, and intellectual curiosity.

Thank you for giving me many years of good education
with dedicated, devoted, well-prepared,
patient and caring teachers,
and supportive fellow student companions at all levels.

Thank you for giving me books to read
and the time to read them.
Thank you for the gift of the computer and the Internet which are creating a worldwide community of knowledge, new ideas and information exchange.
Guide us to use the network wisely and well.

Please now keep my faith strong, my mind clear,
and my heart and body sound and in Your service.

Ready me to be strong in the moment of temptation
and brave in the time of tragedy.

All this I pray to You, my loving Creator and my God
in bold faith, confident hope and enduring trust,

Amen
