THE FALLEN

God of Peace please look down with favor
on the heroic men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice, giving their lives in defense of freedom across the world.

Let their deaths in service to their fellow men and women wash every blemish
from their souls, and may they have
resplendent glory and joy in Your Kingdom
of Eternal Light.

May they, and their valor, never be forgotten.

Help us, Lord, to find the way to an era
of enduring peace in which all peoples
around the earth will live together
in productive happy harmony.

Let troops be called home
from foreign posts, their weapons sheaved.
Inspire leaders to treat their citizens
with justice and equity.

Guide citizens to lead lives of amity
accord and honor.

May guns be silenced and sabers rust,
bombs be defused, cannon melted,
and drones parked.

May all humanity be attentive at last
to Your message of love.

May we all find the way to lasting, blessed, glorious, worldwide peace!

All this I pray in earnest to You,
